Terms & conditions
Becoming a member of Krav Generation
By submitting the membership form you agree to the following:
1. It is your responsibility to ensure you have personal insurance and public liability insurance. You accept that you will be liable for any property damage and/or personal injury caused on the premises. It will be your obligation to pay for any costs involved upon presentation of a statement of proof. The IKMF offers
student insurance.
2. You confirm that you have no health conditions that prevent you from participating in Krav Generation classes. It is your sole responsibility to consult with a qualified physician before undertaking any physical activity with us.
3. In the event of sustaining an injury during a class, it is your responsibility to advise your instructor. You will also be asked to complete an accident form.
4. In the event of experiencing a change in health conditions, you agree to inform Krav Generation’s Director (Laura Doyle) in writing as soon as possible.
5. You agree that Krav Generation will not be held responsible should any injuries and/or health conditions that you have previously disclosed be further impacted by attending the class.
6. You acknowledge that you are voluntarily participating in an activity that, by its very nature, holds risks of all types of injury.
7. Krav Generation provides a safe space in which students can train. We do not tolerate fighting that is aggressive or uncontrolled. If you show signs of putting another student at risk, you will be asked to stop. Your instructor has the right to remove you from the class and Krav Generation reserves the right to stop your membership. If you hurt or injure another student whilst training, you may be at risk of having a claim brought against you by that student.
8. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Krav Generation, affiliated entities and all associates against all claims and liabilities.
9. Along with self-defence techniques you will also learn about de-escalation and gain an understanding of what is considered ‘reasonable force’ in the UK. In the event of causing injury to another person as a result of using a self-defence technique, Krav Generation cannot be held responsible for that injury.
10. Krav Generation will not be held responsible for any injury, illness, emotional upset, psychological injury or losses sustained by you during Krav Generation sessions.
11. You will inform the Director of any previous history or relevant personal information that could put yourself or other students at risk.
12. Krav Generation self-defence techniques must not be used out in public unless it is for self-defence purposes.
13. We sometimes ask other companies to attend and provide seminars to our students. We will inform you of such events in advance and these are not mandatory.
Class protocol
Self-defence is for everyone and we believe in Krav Generation being open to all. As an inclusive club we adapt our techniques and training as required. However, there are occasions when we are unable to provide this service, therefore we reserve the right to withdraw the service if we believe that any student would be otherwise put at risk of injury.
1. It is your responsibility to purchase and wear protective equipment and adhere to health and safety guidance advised by your instructors. The wearing of a groin guard is mandatory. Groin guards can be purchased via Krav Generation. Optional protections, such as mouth guards, boxing gloves, MMA gloves, shin pads and arm guards, can also be purchased via Krav Generation. Failure to wear a groin guard may put you at risk of injury.
2. All items of jewellery and watches must be removed before training. Failure to adhere to guidance could put you at risk of claims.
3. There are no uniform requirements within your first month at Krav Generation, unless you wish to grade. However, after your first month you will be asked to purchase a club t-shirt.
4. Grading is not mandatory. However, if you do wish to grade you will be required to wear the official IKMF uniform. This can be purchased via Krav Generation.
5. It is your responsibility to train at your own pace and to ensure you do not put yourself at risk of injury.
6. Students often train and practice in pairs. If you feel your partner is going too hard, they are not listening or you are not comfortable with them, it is your responsibility to make it known to that person and your instructor. Your instructor may then advise a change of partners.
7. If you cannot do, or do not feel comfortable doing, a particular technique or move, it is your responsibility to make it known to your instructor or to stop doing it. We will always try our best to find an alternative so that you can continue to participate in the session.
8. You must not incorporate any other method of combat/martial arts or boxing during a Krav Generation class without explicit agreement of your instructor.
9. If you perform a move or technique other than that which is being taught by your instructor and you cause injury to another student or member of the public, you may be at risk of a claim being issued against you. Krav Generation cannot be held liable for such injuries.
10. Should your instructor ask you for any reason to cease training you agree to do so.
Membership
Change of membership
Krav Generation offers a range of membership levels, which can be changed at any time via email requests to laura@kravgen.co.uk. Membership changes take effect from the beginning of the next monthly membership payment date.
Train anywhere
You can attend classes at any Krav Generation venue as long as you do not exceed your membership level. No prior notification is required but classes must be booked in advance through Krav Generation’s booking system.
Price lock
Krav Generation operates a price-lock policy for all members. As long as your membership remains active or on paid pause, the membership rate will be frozen. Should you decide to cancel and re-join, it will be at the current club rates.
Price changes
All class prices are fixed for the duration of a membership. Any prices changes will be communicated at least one month prior to implementation.
Satisfaction guarantee
During the first 4 days of membership, you can cancel your membership free of charge and receive a full refund.
Payment of monthly membership fees
You are responsible for the payment of your membership. This is true even if the amount is debited directly by Krav Generation. The agreed price applies only if payment is made in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions. The first month’s payment or adjusted amount along with any sign-up fee must be paid at the point of this agreement.
You agree to scheduled debit payments from your account or card. Subscription membership payments are collected within 5 days of completing the GoCardless mandate form. Your responsibility for payment includes ensuring you have sufficient funds for the recurring direct debit payments to Krav Generation. Failure to have sufficient funds will result in a £15 administration fee.
If payment is late you will receive a reminder email from Krav Generation and training may be suspended. The membership will continue to run. If after 30 days the amount is not paid in full, you will be in violation of the contract.
Membership pause
Monthly membership can be paused at the cost of £15 per month for children and teens and £20 for adults. The minimum pause period is 1 month to be taken in calendar month increments, with a maximum pause period of two months. Requests must be made via email to Laura Doyle at least 14 days in advance and cannot be applied retrospectively. Failure to notify Krav Generation of a pause (eg cancellation of direct debit) will be deemed an unauthorised cancellation, which carries an administration fee and will be subject to any and all outstanding charges.
Cancellation of membership
All monthly memberships can be cancelled by giving 30 days’ notice. Notice must be given via email to Laura Doyle. Krav Generation will confirm cancellation via email.
Cancellations cannot be applied retrospectively. Cancellation of a direct debit within the notice period, without notice and/or without agreement will incur a £20 administration fee. Failure to pay this fee will result in the case being passed to a collection agency and may incur additional charges.
Please note: classes must still be paid for during the notice period.
Example of cancellation: Sue’s monthly direct debit is paid on the 1st of every month. On 26th August, she decides to cancel her membership and has no plans to attend a class the following week. This constitutes only one week’s notice, which is not in compliance with Krav Generation’s cancellation policy. Therefore, she must still pay her full monthly fee on 1 September to comply with Krav Generation’s cancellation policy.
Should you decide to re-activate your membership at a later date, a £30 joining fee will be applicable.
Adult membership cancellation during pause period
To cancel your membership during a paid pause period, you must give 30 days’ notice via email to Laura Doyle. Krav Generation will confirm cancellation via email. Please note: the notice period applies to your membership fees, not the fees being paid during your paused membership.
Adult class cancellations
In the event of a class cancellation, Krav Generation will make every effort to give as much notice as possible and request they make up their session at another location. No refunds will be issued.
Bank holidays
Classes do not run on bank holidays, specifically Monday bank holidays. We ask all members to plan their training at other locations during such weeks.
Club holidays
Krav Generation closes for 2 weeks over the Christmas and New Year period. A reminder will be given in class and through the Krav Generation Facebook group.
Kids & teens
Class cancellations
Class cancellations are rare, but may occur due to circumstances beyond our control. In the event of a class cancellation, Krav Generation will make every effort to give as much notice as possible. No refunds will be issued.
Social media
Facebook & Instagram
Krav Generation operates two Facebook pages. The general business page is open to the public and used for the marketing and promotion of Krav Generation. Krav Generation Private Members Page is a closed group for members of the club. This page is used to post class events and pictures from the training classes. If you would like to join, please email Laura Doyle.
Similarly, Krav Generation’s Instagram page is used to promote the club and is open to the public.
Use of photography on social media
If you do not wish to be included any photos, it is your responsibility to let your instructor know at the beginning of class and step out of any pictures before they are taken. The pictures are private and cannot be used outside the group without prior permission from those in the photos. Please note: due to safeguarding, Krav Generation does not take photographs of junior members.
The Krav Generation WhatsApp group is for members only. If you would like to join, please email Laura Doyle. It is not mandatory to join as any relevant information will be emailed to students directly or will be announced in the classes.
