Becoming a member of Krav Generation

By submitting the membership form you agree to the following:

  1. It is your responsibility to ensure you have personal insurance and public liability insurance. The IKMF offers student insurance.

  2. You confirm that you have no health conditions that prevent you from participating in Krav Generation classes.

  3. In the event of sustaining an injury or experiencing a change in health conditions, you agree to inform Krav Generation’s Director (Laura Doyle) in writing as soon as possible.

  4. You agree that Krav Generation will not be held responsible should any injuries and/or health conditions that you have previously disclosed be further impacted by attending the class.

  5. You acknowledge that you are voluntarily participating in an activity that, by its very nature, holds risks of all types of injury.

  6. Along with self-defence techniques you will also learn about de-escalation and gain an understanding of what is considered ‘reasonable force’ in the UK. In the event of causing injury to another person as a result of using a self-defence technique, Krav Generation cannot be held responsible for that injury.

  7. Krav Generation Ltd will not be held responsible for any injury, illness, emotional upset, psychological injury or losses sustained by you during Krav Generation sessions.
  8. You will inform the Director of any previous history or relevant personal information that could put yourself or other students at risk.

  9. Krav Generation self-defence techniques must not be used out in public unless it is for self-defence purposes.

  10. We sometimes ask other companies to attend and provide seminars to our students. We will inform you of such events in advance and these are not mandatory.

Class protocol

Self-defence is for everyone and we believe in Krav Generation being open to all. As an inclusive club we adapt our techniques and training as required. However, there are occasions when we are unable to provide this service, therefore we reserve the right to withdraw the service if we believe that any students would be otherwise put at risk of injury.

  1. It is your responsibility to purchase and wear protective equipment as recommended and adhere to health and safety guidance advised by your instructors.

  2. All items of jewellery and watches must be removed before training.

  3. It is your responsibility to train at your own pace and to ensure you do not put yourself at risk of injury.

  4. Students often train and practice in pairs. If you feel your partner is going too hard, they are not listening or you are not comfortable with them, it is your responsibility to make it known to that person and to your instructor. Your instructor may then advise a change of partners.

  5. If you cannot do, or do not feel comfortable doing, a particular technique or move it is your responsibility to make it known to your instructor or to stop doing it. We will always try our best to find an alternative so that you can continue to participate in the session.

  6. You must not incorporate any other method of combat/martial arts or boxing training during a Krav Generation class without explicit agreement of your instructor.

  7. If you perform a move or technique other that what is being taught by your instructor and you cause injury to another student or member of the public, you may be at risk of a claim being issued against you. Krav Generation cannot be held liable for such injuries.

  8. Should your instructor ask you for any reason to cease training you agree to do so.

Use of personal information

  1. We use your personal data primarily to be able to contact you after attending your first class and, similarly, to contact you in the event of class cancellation at short notice.

  2. Personal data is kept on file for emergency contact details and as a record of any disclosed health conditions.

  3. Krav Generation’s use of your personal data is subject to your instructions, the EU General Data Protection Regulations & GDPR, Regulation Protection Regulations, other relevant UK & EU legislation and our professional duty of confidentiality.

  4. We cannot absolutely guarantee the security of information communicated by email, mobile phone or left on a voicemail message. Unless you tell us to the contrary, we will assume that you consent for us to use these methods of communication and you accept the risk inherent in their use. The risks include possibility of interception, unauthorised access and computer viruses.
